Parc National Souss Mass

Category:

The tour begins in Massa National Park with pick-up from your hotel in Agadir or Taghazoute around 8:00 AM. Then enjoy a 40-minute scenic drive to Souss Massa Park.
The park was created in 1991 on an area of 33,800 hectares with the aim of restoring the fauna of the Sahara desert in southern Morocco.
The park has a nature trail in Oued Souss and a visitor center in Oued Massa.
Oued Massa stores water all year round and is home to marbled ducks. It is the only breeding ground in Morocco for the ibis globe.
Both estuaries are important for migratory birds, especially wading birds and gulls.
Souss-Massa also runs captive breeding programs for four endangered North African ungulates.
Sablehorn, addax, dama and dorcas are housed in separate enclosures in the park.
The reintroduction of the extinct North African ostrich north of the Sahara is also underway. Upon arrival, visit the park's museum and learn about the many endangered species that live there.
The park is home to 250 species of birds, 30 species of mammals, 35 species of amphibians and reptiles.
So keep your eyes open as you explore the area with your guide.
